Tools and Equipment are valuable to any jobsite, and some of the most important assets you will own. Make sure you take the right precautions to keep your equipment safe and out of harm’s way.
Tips to protect equipment from theft and damage:
-Make sure you have the proper storage available for your tools and equipment, having secure storage with locks will protect your tools from damage and theft.
-Find a way to identify your tools and equipment in the case of theft. It’s always a good idea to have a list of all tools available onsite, while also tagging these tools with identification.
-Another way to alleviate tool and equipment damage is to provide proper staff training and put procedures in place. Make sure that everyone on your jobsite knows how to properly store and handle all tools they will be coming into contact with. Staff training will also contribute to worker safety!
-Use a check in, check out procedure to identify theft and damage immediately. Inspecting inventory daily will not only allow you to identity any issues but also allow you to recover assets quicker.
